HaystackID expands CaseBot into agentic AI case intelligence with eight Specialized Skill Agents

Purpose-built Skill Agents for fact development and case preparation turn the matter record into source-linked narratives, chronologies, deposition kits and record checks that legal teams can verify
CHICAGO, Oct. 29, 2026 /PRNewswire/ — HaystackID®, a trusted partner focused on managing complex data and workflow challenges in legal, compliance, regulatory and cybersecurity environments, today announced that CaseBot™ is now available as agentic AI case intelligence, with eight Specialized Skill Agents that help legal teams explore evidence, investigate complex questions and produce substantive case work directly from the matter record.
The release takes CaseBot beyond question and answer. For complex questions, CaseBot can now work through multiple steps of analysis, identifying relevant evidence, pursuing additional lines of inquiry, evaluating what it finds and synthesizing the results into an evidence-backed response. The Specialized Skill Agents apply that same agentic process to recurring legal tasks, from reconstructing a chronology to testing a witness’s account against the documentary record.
CaseBot first became generally available in May 2026 as a conversational assistant that answered questions about matter data with source citations, and HaystackID previewed the agentic version at ILTACON 2026 in Nashville in August. The version available today is built for the stage of a matter where understanding the record is only the beginning, and teams need to develop facts, test theories, connect evidence and turn what they find into usable work product.
“Legal teams do not need another tool that answers a question and stops,” said Chad Pinson, chief executive officer at HaystackID. “They need help with the work that follows: building the narrative, preparing the witness and checking the record. CaseBot moves that work closer to the evidence and keeps every finding tied to a source an attorney can examine.”
Specialized Skill Agents: Purpose-built workflows for recurring legal work
The eight Specialized Skill Agents are organized into two categories. Fact development agents help attorneys understand the record, and case preparation agents turn that understanding into usable litigation work product.
Fact development: Understand the record
- Fact Narrative builds a detailed, evidence-backed account of what happened across targeted matter documents.
- Chronology reconstructs key events and organizes them into a source-supported timeline.
- Entity Map identifies important people, organizations, relationships and interactions across the record.
- Hot Document Finder surfaces documents with potentially important factual, strategic or evidentiary value.
Case preparation: Act on the record
- Deposition Kit develops witness-focused preparation materials grounded in the documentary record.
- Claim Analysis evaluates claims, allegations or case theories against supporting and contrary evidence.
- Request Analysis breaks discovery requests into component issues and analyzes the record against each request.
- Record Check tests testimony, statements or assertions against the documentary record and identifies supporting, contradictory or missing evidence.
Each Skill Agent produces a structured deliverable that connects its findings to supporting documents and passages, so teams can examine the evidence, review context and validate the analysis before relying on it. Deliverables can be exported as formatted PDF reports.
“The Skill Agents are built around work attorneys already do in nearly every matter,” said Esther Birnbaum, executive vice president of data intelligence at HaystackID. “A deposition kit or a record check has always started with long hours in the documents before the analysis could begin. Now a team can launch that workflow, see what the record supports, what it contradicts and what is missing, and spend its time on judgment rather than assembly.”
Natural-language exploration: Ask the record and follow the evidence
Alongside the Skill Agents, users can ask questions in plain language about facts, events, people, claims and relationships, such as which custodians discussed a project in a given month or what evidence supports or contradicts a witness’s account. Follow-up questions let users clarify findings and pursue new lines of inquiry as their understanding develops.
Both modes draw on the same searchable, persistent matter index, which CaseBot builds from the document population selected for the project: all documents, the relevant set or another targeted subset. CaseBot works alongside Case Insight™, which gives legal teams an early, cited read of a dataset before search and review begin, and legal teams can use CaseBot as a stand-alone environment or within Relativity.
Built for sensitive legal work: Privacy, security and human oversight
CaseBot was designed around the privacy and security requirements of legal, regulatory and investigative matters. Client documents, prompts and responses are never used to train, fine-tune or otherwise modify any language model, and client data is not sent to third parties. CaseBot operates within a secure Microsoft Azure environment, with client data encrypted and processing and storage segregated by container to prevent cross-client exposure.
The matter index persists for the life of the project and is deleted when the project closes, when the matter closes in Relativity or upon request, whichever comes first. Legal professionals remain responsible for verifying findings, conducting appropriate follow-up review and applying professional judgment, and CaseBot is not intended to confirm the absence of information or to provide legal advice.
“Clients are building AI requirements into their 2027 provider evaluations, and the questions have moved from speed to defensibility,” said Nate Latessa, chief revenue officer at HaystackID. “They want to know whether findings trace back to the source, whether contrary evidence surfaces and whether their data stays protected. CaseBot gives clients a clear answer on all three, within a single relationship that already spans advisory, cybersecurity, managed review and AI-enabled analysis.”
CaseBot is available today to HaystackID clients. Legal teams can schedule a CaseBot demonstration or briefing with HaystackID experts or learn more at HaystackID.com.
